<-- human-driven condition
- The research-based artwork “<-- human-driven condition” reflects on the hidden labor within computational systems and situates the automated engagement by group control systems within surveillance capitalism as a subversion of it. The work draws strong inspiration from the field of digital anthropology and takes a cultural approach: It treats the lived experiences of people involved in the production of automated engagement via group control systems as the subject for theorizing the complicated structures of contemporary digital capital: Group control systems here appear as a form of emancipatory bot culture resulting from the workers’ struggle to satisfy a demand for genuine human behavior. From this research, an installation is developed that serves as an entangled media object about group control systems.
